Uru

The Uru paddle by TAI Paddles is a premium steering paddle designed by Conan Herbert, inspired by the previous Toroa model. It features an expanded blade surface area for improved performance in various water conditions. The blade size is 9.5″ x 20.25″

The paddle is available in three constructions: Full Carbon, TimberTech, and Carbon Hybrid. 

The Full Carbon model uses high-strength Toray 3K twill carbon with a lightweight PVC foam core, while the TimberTech version combines FSC certified white oak veneer with carbon. The Carbon Hybrid includes a DuraTec scratch-proof laminate with Māori Kowhaiwhai patterns. 

Shaft options include laminated oval straight timber and a hybrid laminated timber with a carbon sleeve.
